4 new works on paper and some templates for future paintings constitute the current show at the Wayward Cafe, a quaint vegetarian eatery located in the University District in Seattle. Hours are 10 to 5 Monday through Saturday. Included is Big Truck, or 1-800-HOWS-MY-DRIVING an idea originally incubated while in Chile, after seeing the large Caterpillar mining trucks working at the Chuquicamata Mine in the Atacama Desert. I incorporated the concept of the roving art cars from Burning Man Festival in Nevada and took it to the next level by imagining a 797B, one of the more sizable mining trucks, equipped with a concert quality sound system projected both in the bed of the truck and outward, able to deliver massive sound as the immense, slow moving vehicle makes it way to “critical” areas.
